1975 ORDINANCE NO. 25

AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ANY PERSON WHO SHALL ENGAGE IN BUSINESS TO BUY COCONUT GRAINS OR BARTER ANY ARTICLE WITH COCONUT GRAINS TO PAY MUNICIPAL LICENSE BEFORE ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS.


Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman, Camiguin Philippines, that:


Section 1

It is unlawful for any person to engage in business to buy coconut grains without paying first a municipal license of fifty pesos per annum.


Section 2

A license buyer of coconut grains is required by this ordinance to have a purchase book where he/she shall enter the name of the person who sells coconut grains, the address of the seller, the number of coconut grains sold, and the date of purchase. The book shall be opened for inspection by the authorities authorize to inspect as provided in Section 5 of this ordinance.


Section 3

A license buyer of coconut grains can barter his/her article sold in his/her store with coconut grains and enter in his/her purchase book the name of the person who barters, his address, the number of coconut grains bartered, the article bartered, and the date of barter.


Section 4

When the purchase is filed up, he/she shall turn over the book to the District commander (this chief of police) for filling and for reference.


Section 5

The persons authorized to inspect the purchase book are the Municipal Mayor, the Municipal Vice Mayor, the Municipal Councilors, the Municipal Treasurer, The District Commander of the Integrated Police Force of Catarman, Camiguin, the Barangay Captains and the Kabataang Barangay Chairman in their Barangay District, who shall affix their signature and the date of inspection.


Section 6

Any person found violating any provision of this ordinance shall fined of not more than fifty pesos, and not less than twenty-five pesos, or imprisonment of not more than ten days and not less than five days, or both at the discretion of the court.


Section 7

Any ordinance whose provision or provisions is/are inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance is/are hereby repealed.


Section 8

That this ordinance shall take effect ten days after its approval
