AN ORDINANCE PROTECTING COCONUT PRODUCERS FROM THIEVERY OF YOUNG COCONUTS.
Section 1
This ordinance shall be known as Young Coconuts anti-Thievery Ordinance of 1993.
Section 2
All young coconut producers are required to secure permit to gather/harvest young coconuts from the Office of the Barangay Captain of the place where the plantation is located prior to harvesting.
Section 3
The barangay is hereby authorized to levy an amount of not more than P5.00, for every permit issued which shall be accrued to the barangay funds.
Section 4
Young coconut shell buyers are hereby required to demand permit issued by the Office of the Barangay Captain from the young coconut shell dealers.
Section 5
Young coconut shell buyers shall maintain a record of purchases of young coconut shells, indicating therein the names of the sellers, the volume of shells bought and the date which should be submitted to the Office of the Treasurer on or before the fifth day of each succeeding month.
Section 6
Any violation of this ordinance shall subject the violator to a fine of P2,500.00, or an imprisonment of six (6) months, or both, at the discretion of the court.
Section 7
Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed and/or rescinded.
Section 8
This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
