1990 ORDINANCE NO. 8

THE DOG ORDINANCE FOR 1990.


Section 1

This ordinance shall be known as the dog ordinance for 1990.


Section 2

All dog owners are required to keep their dogs.


Section 3

Astray dogs shall be caught or lassoed and impounded by the Municipal government.


Section 4

Each astray dog caught shall subject its owner to a fine of Fifty (P50.00) pesos.


Section 5

The dog catcher shall be compensated Thirty (P30.00) pesos for each dog caught.


Section 6

If an astray dog is impounded by the municipal government, the owner should retrieve it by paying the necessary fees, within five (5) days, counting on the date of its impounding.


Section 7

For every day of impounding, the owner is charged another Five (P5.00) pesos a day for maintenance.


Section 8

If after the lapse of Five (P5.00) days, the owner fails to retrieve his animal, the dog will be sold at public auction.


Section 9

Penalty. In addition to the administrative fine of Fifty (P50.00) pesos, mentioned elsewhere in this ordinance, the violator is subject to an imprisonment of five (5) days, or both, at the discretion of the Court.  


Section 10

Repealing Clause. All previous ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance is accordingly revoked, abolished or amended.


Section 11

Effectivity. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen (15) days after approval or March 27, 1990.
