AN ORDINANCE KNOWN AS THE LIGHTED CIGARETTE BUTTS
Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman, Camiguin, now assembled that:
Section 1
EXPLANATION: There is great probability that when a lighted cigarette butt is thrown in a dry place will cause fire. It has been observed that movie-goes, especially the men, smoked inside the theatre while watching the moving pictures, and every now and then throw their lighted cigarette butts elsewhere in the building. Now in order to safe guard the public from fire that might be caused by a cigarette butt, it is imperative to prohibit all movie-goers to smoke inside the theater while seeing a moving pictures.
Section 2
It is strictly prohibited to smoke cigarette or tobacco inside the theater while seeing a moving pictures.
Section 3
Any person or persons found violating the provision of this ordinances shall be fine of not more than fifty pesos and not less than twenty five pesos, or an imprisonment of not more than ten days and not less than five days, or both fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court.
Section 4
Any ordinance whose provision or provisions is/are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance is hereby repealed.
Section 5
That this ordinance shall take effect on the 15th day of April, 1974.
