    1991 ORDINANCE NO. 5

    AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF DRY COCONUT LEAVES FOR TORCH DURING DRY SEASONS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.


    Section 1

    This ordinance shall be known as anti-bush fire ordinance of 1991.


    Section 2

    During summer period or dry season, the use of dry coconut leaves for torch should not be allowed.


    Section 3

    Starting fire in the yard or farm should be closely monitored and no debris or pile of trash should be left behind without the assurance that the fire is definitely put out.


    Section 4

    Cigarette stubs should not be thrown away without being crushed to ensure that the stub has no more fire.


    Section 5

    Penalty. Any violation to this ordinance shall subject the violator to a fine of not less than three hundred (P300.00) pesos, but not more than five hundred (P500.00) pesos, or an imprisonment of three (3) months, but not more than six (6) months, or both, at the discretion of the court.


    Section 6

    All ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.


    Section 7

    This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
