AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT ANY PERSON OR PERSONS TO CONDUCT A GAME OF CHANCE KNOWN AS HUGUT OR HUGUT-HUGUT OR OF SIMILAR IMPORT.
Be it ordained by the Municipal Councilor of Catarman, Camiguin, that:
Section 1
ELUCIDATION OF THE GAME: Hugut or Hugut-Hugut is a game introduced in this municipality by peddlers coming from Luzon, especially the Tagalogs. It is a game that induces minors to try a chance to win a prize upon paying ten centavos for every number rolled. Many or most of the numbers appearing below the prizes are not included among the rolled numbers, and therefore, many or most of the prizes are not won by players.
Section 2
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to conduct a game of chance known as Hugut or Hugut-Hugut or of similar import, as children or players are cheated or shall form the habit of gambling;
Section 3
Any person or persons found violating the provision of this ordinance shall be fined or not more than one hundred pesos and not less than fifty pesos, or an imprisonment of not more than fifteen days and not less than ten days, or both fined and imprisonment at the discretion of the court.
Section 4
This ordinance shall take effect ten days after its approval.
