AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT ANY PERSON OR PERSONS OR BUSINESS FIRM ENGAGE IN FISHING INDUSTRY AND USING NYLON NET (POKOT) OR LICOM-LICOM OR OF SIMILAR KIND TO DRIVE AWAY ANY SCHOOL OF FISH POUND WITHIN ONE NAUTICAL MILE DISTANCE FROM THE SEASHORE OF CATARMAN SEA WATER MEASURED FROM THE SHORELINE TOWARD THE HIGH SEA.
Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Catarman, Camiguin, that:
Section 1
It is unlawful of any person or persons, or business firm duly license in accordance with Section 1 of Municipal Ordinance No. 8, series of 1969 of Catarman, Camiguin, to drive away any school of fish found within one nautical mile distance from the sea water of Catarman, Camiguin, measured from the shoreline toward the high sea so as to deprive the small fishnet owners also duly license from catching such school of fish.
Section 2
Any person or persons, or business firm found violating this ordinance shall be fined of not more than five hundred pesos and not less than two hundred pesos, or an imprisonment of not more than thirty days nor less than fifteen days, or both fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court.
Section 3
Any ordinance whose provisions are inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance is hereby repealed.
Section 4
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
