1966 ORDINANCE NO. 8

AN ORDINANCE ON ANTI-LITTERING DRIVE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION ON CLEANLINESS AND BEAUTIFICATION AND IN CONNECTION WITH THE SANITARY ASPECT OF THIS MUNICIPALITY WHICH THE FIRST LADY, MRS. RUFINA A. ADAZA OF THIS MUNICIPALITY AND THE MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICER, DR. EULALIO PABILLORE HEAD THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMITTEES, FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF CATARMAN, SUBPROVINCE OF CAMIGUIN, MISAMIS ORIENTAL.


Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman, Subprovince of Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, that:


Section 1

Henceforth the public places and public buildings of this Municipality should be clean and pleasing to the public eye – and no person or persons are allowed to throw rubbish in any public places and public buildings, public plazas and public markets, municipal, provincial and national roads or highways, and to dry clothes, firewood’s and any other articles or things which are unpleasant to the public eye on or along the sides of the municipal and provincial roads and national highways and public plazas.


Section 2

For purposes of this ordinance, brooks and canals at the sides of the town public market are considered public places, therefore, within the purview of Section 1 above.


Section 3

PENALTY : Any person or persons found violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished as follows:


1st Offense: A fine of not less than P5.00 and not more than P10.00, or an imprisonment of from 1 to 15 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.


2nd Offense: A fine of not less than P11.00 and not more than P20.00, or an imprisonment of from 16 to 30 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.


3rd Offense: A fine of not less than P20.00 and not more than P100.00, or an imprisonment of from one month and one day to six months or both at the discretion of the court.


Section 4

REPEALING CLAUSE:REPEALING CLAUSE: Any ordinance the provisions of which are in contravention with any of the provisions of the Ordinance are hereby repealed.


Section 5

EFFECTIVITY : This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
