AN ORDINANCE PROTECTING COCONUT PRODUCERS AND FARMERS FROM THIEVERY OF COCONUTS, NAMELY: MATURED (TIBOOK LUBI) AND YOUNG COCONUT (BUTONG).
BE IT ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Bayan, this municipality, on its regular session assembled:
Section 1
TITLE. This ordinance shall be known as “Anti-thievery of Coconuts, matured (tibuok lubi) and young (butong) coconuts.
Section 2
STRICT COMPLIANCE. All coconut, copra and butong, producers are hereby required to secure permit from the Office of the Punong Barangay from the place where the plantation is located immediately prior to harvesting.
Section 3
The Office of the Barangay is hereby authorized to levy an amount of Twenty (P20.00) Pesos per parcel of coco plantation for every permit issued which shall be accrued to the barangay funds.
Section 4
PENALTY CLAUSE. Violation of this ordinance shall subject the violation to a fine of not more than P2,000.00 and/or imprisonment of not more than sixty (60) days, or both, at the discretion of the proper court.
Section 5
SEPARABILITY CLAUSE. If for any reason or reasons, any part of this ordinance is held unlawful or invalid, other parts and provisions hereof which are not affected thereby shall continue to be in full force an in effect.
Section 6
EFFECTIVITY. This ordinance shall take effect after public hearing and posting of this ordinance in conspicuous places within the Municipality of Catarman shall have been made.
