AMENDING MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 8 SERIES OF 1968, SECTION I, AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL COPRA DEALERS OR AGENTS WHETHER RESIDING OR NOT IN THE MUNICIPALITY WHO BUYS COPRA WITHIN THE TERRETORIAL JURISDICTION OF CATARMAN, CAMIGUIN TO PAY A MUNICIPAL LICENSE YEARLY ACCORDING TO CAPITAL.

Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman, Camiguin, that:

Section 1

All copra dealers or agents whether residing or not in this municipality, and whether having a bodega for the copra or none in this municipality, who buys copra within the territorial jurisdiction of Catarman, Camiguin, shall pay a municipal license yearly according to capital as follows, to wit:

P20,000.00 or more                                   P1,000.00

P15,000.00 but below P20,000.00            P600.00

P10,000.00 but below P15,000.00            P300.00

P 5,000.00 but below P10,000.00             P200.00

P 1,000.00 but below P 5,000.00              P60.00

Below P 5,000.00                                      P24.00

Section 2

For purposes of this ordinance, capital, includes, cash, trucks, and any other paraphernalia used in copra business.

Section 3

It is a prerequisite that before payment is made, any copra dealer or agent should submit with the Office of the Municipal Treasurer of Catarman, Camiguin, a statement of capital of the business, sworn to by the dealer or in case of a corporation or partnership, by the president, manager, or any authorized agent.

Section 4

PENALTY: Any copra dealer or agent round violating any provision of this ordinance, shall be punished by an imprisonment of not less than twenty (20) days nor more than thirty (30) days, or a penalty of not less than P100.00 nor more than P200.00, or both at the discretion of the court.

Section 5

REPEALING CLAUSE: Any ordinance the provision or provisions is/are inconsistent with the provision or provisions of this ordinance is are hereby repealed.

Section 6

EFFFECTIVITY : This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
