    1966 ORDINANCE NO. 9

    AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING OWNER OR OWNERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES MECHANICS, DRIVERS OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR PERSONS TO MAKE REPAIR OF THEIR MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE MUNICIPAL, PROVINCIAL AND NATIONAL ROADS OR HIGHWAYS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CATARMAN, SUBPROVINCE OF CAMIGUIN, MISAMIS ORIENTAL.


    Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman, Subprovince of Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, that:


    Section 1

    No owner or owners of motor vehicles, mechanics, drivers or any other person or persons shall be allowed to make repair of their motor vehicles on the Municipal, Provincial and National roads or Highways more than twenty-four (24) hours from the time the motor vehicles not an accident on said roads – or a necessary repair of their motor vehicles shall be done. If after twenty-four (24) hours the repair has not been finished the owner and owners, mechanics, drivers or any other person or persons making the repair shall immediately remove the motor vehicles under repair away from the roads to avoid the obstruction for the passage of other motor vehicles and pedestrians.


    Section 2

    When the repair of motor vehicles should happen near the residence of the owner or owners, mechanics, drivers or any other person or persons making the repair – such shall not be tolerated and they shall immediately bring the motor vehicles under repair inside their lot or garage.


    Section 3

    PENALTY : Any owner or owners of motor vehicles, mechanics, drivers or any other person or persons making the repair found violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished as follows.


    1st Offense : A fine of not less then P5.00 but not more than P25.00, or an imprisonment of not less than 5 days but not more than 10 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.


    2nd Offense: A fine of not less than P25.00 but not more than P50.00, or an imprisonment of not less than 10 days but not more than 20 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.


    3rd Offense: A fine of not less than P50.00 but not more than P100.00, or an imprisonment of not less than 20 days but not more than 30 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.


    Section 4

    REPEALING CLAUSE: Any ordinance the provisions of which are inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.


    Section 5

    EFFECTIVITY : This ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1967.
