1975 ORDINANCE NO. 19

Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Catarman Camiguin, Philippines, now assembled, that:


Section 1

That this ordinance shall be known as Municipal Traffic Regulations.


Section 2

That it is unlawful for any motor vehicle driver to run his/her car with a speed of more than ten kilometers per hour within the Poblacion of Catarman, Camiguin, except the following:


a)  A physician or his driver when the former responds to emergency calls.

b)  The driver of a hospital ambulance on the way to and from the place of accident or other emergency.

c)   Any driver bringing a wounded or sick person for emergency treatment to a hospital, clinic, or any other similar place.

d)  The driver of motor vehicle belonging to the Armed Forces while in use for official purposes in time of riot, insurrection or invasion.

e)  The driver of vehicle, when he or his passengers are in pursuit of a criminal.

f)   The driver or the law enforcement officer who is trying to overtake a violator of traffic laws. And

g)  The driver officially operating a motor vehicle of any fire department, provided that exemption shall not be construed to allow useless or unnecessary fast driving or drivers aforementioned.


Section 3

For purposes of determining the extent of territorial limit of Poblacion Catarman Camiguin as contemplated in this ordinance starts from the bridge near the residence of Mr. Domingo B. Tabid at Punta Puti, Catarman, Camiguin, and up to the bridge near the Camiguin High School, at Catarman, Camiguin.


Section 4

That all motor vehicles bearing plate of T, TH, AC, PU, PUJ, AND PUB going to Mambajao, Camiguin, from Catarman, Camiguin via Sagay, Camiguin shall pass from the National Highway to Patricio Basa Street, to Dr. Rodolfo M. Jacot Avenue, to Gregorio Basmayor Street and to the National Highway toward Sagay, Camiguin.


Section 5

That all passenger cars with AC, PU, PUJ, AND PUB plate leaving Catarman at 4:00 A.M. every morning for Mambajao, Camiguin, via Sagay, Camiguin, shall start at Looc, Catarman, Camiguin, with an interval of ten minutes each car. After 8:00 A.M. every morning, shall start at the public market, with an interval of ten minutes each car.


Section 6

That all cars from Mambajao, Camiguiin, entering Catarman, Camiguin, via Sagay, Camiguin, shall pass the national highway.


Section 7

Any driver of a cars except that provided as an exception in Section 2 of this ordinance found violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined of not more than fifty pesos and not less than thirty pesos, or an imprisonment of not more than ten days and not less than five days, or both at the discretion of the court.


Section 8

Any ordinance whose provision or provisions is/are inconsistent with any of the provision of this ordinance is/are hereby repealed.


Section 9

That this ordinance shall take effect immediately.
